The Wells County Chamber of Commerce and its Ambassadors recently surprised Chelsea Beer and her team at Unique Blue Bar & Grill with the exciting announcement that they had been selected as the Chamber’s August Member of the Month. Located at 205 W. Market Street in Bluffton, Unique Blue was recognized for its continued investment in the community, welcoming atmosphere, and dedication to creating a place where people can gather, enjoy great food, and make memories.
For many years, the building at 205 West Market Street was home to Stag Bar, a well-known local gathering place in Bluffton. While honoring the history and memories created there over the years, owner Chelsea Beer has continued to build upon that foundation, creating a new identity and experience for the community under the name Unique Blue Bar & Grill.
Chelsea’s connection to the business began long before she became the owner. After working at the establishment for 13 years, she took ownership seven years ago and has continued to make updates and improvements while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that long-term customers appreciate.
Since taking ownership, Chelsea has introduced several changes, including creating a smoke-free environment, expanding the food menu, and adding more events and entertainment opportunities for guests. "We do a lot of karaoke, trivia, and are trying to do more live music," Chelsea shared.
Unique Blue offers a variety of food options, including burgers, wings, appetizers, and other classic favorites, while providing a fun atmosphere for customers to enjoy with friends and family. The restaurant also features an outdoor patio area and regularly hosts entertainment and special events throughout the year.
Guests can also enjoy weekly specials, including $8 burgers and fries on Mondays and 75-cent wings on Thursdays. Chelsea continues to look for new ways to bring people together and provide experiences that keep customers coming back. In 2023, Chelsea added an outdoor patio, creating additional space for guests to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue improving the business while keeping Unique Blue a place where the community feels welcome.
"I just want to keep working on things, keep improving, and keep staying involved with everybody," Chelsea shared. Beyond serving daily customers, Unique Blue has become a popular location for private gatherings, including class reunions, birthday celebrations, Christmas parties, and other special events. Chelsea also offers catering options, whether customers are looking to host an event at the restaurant or bring food to another location.
