The Wells County Chamber of Commerce, dedicated to connecting, supporting, and growing local businesses while fostering a strong and vibrant community, was recently surprised by an outpouring of appreciation from Chamber members and community supporters.
Community members, Chamber Ambassadors, and local business leaders gathered with the expectation of celebrating the ribbon cutting for Magnolia Grace’s new location. As everyone assembled and the scissors were brought out, Leander Schwartz of LS Construction paused the event and announced that the gathering was not a ribbon cutting, but instead a celebration honoring the Chamber. Nick Huffman of the Steffen Group followed by sharing his appreciation and gratitude for all the Chamber has done to support local businesses and the Wells County community.
“This was an incredibly thoughtful and humbling moment for our entire team,” said Erin Prible, Executive Director of the Wells County Chamber of Commerce. “Our mission is to connect, support, and grow local businesses, and to see our members come together to recognize that work meant a great deal to all of us.”
A thank-you banner added a personal touch and reflected the strong relationships and collaboration that define the Chamber network. The surprise also included cookies from Sweet Obsessions, flower bouquets from A Perfect Blend, a floral arrangement from Posy Pot Florist, and a charcuterie spread from The Charcuterie Shop.
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce could not accomplish what it does without its members. This year has been a year of growth and momentum, made possible by a strong team and an engaged membership that consistently comes together to support Wells County businesses.
Closing out the year with 500 members, the Wells County Chamber of Commerce is growing and thriving. “We are thankful for our members and the trust they place in the Chamber,” Prible added. “Their continued support allows us to expand our programs, strengthen advocacy efforts, and create new opportunities. We are looking forward to an explosive 2026.”
As the Chamber looks ahead to the new year, its focus will continue to be guided by the 2026 tagline: Connect. Support. Grow.—a reflection of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to building strong businesses and a stronger Wells County.
The celebration also recognized Chamber staff members Hattie Wondercheck, Rachel Reinhard, and Hudson Winters, whose daily work supports Chamber programs, events, and member services throughout the community.
Businesses interested in membership are encouraged to connect with the Chamber to learn more about available programs, events, and resources. The Wells County Chamber of Commerce is located at 211 Water Street and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
