Foundations of Truth Named June Member of the Month by Wells County Chamber of Commerce

The Wells County Chamber of Commerce proudly recognized Foundations of Truth, coordinated by John and Pam Reinhard, along with a host of volunteers, as the June Member of the Month. The honor celebrates the organization’s remarkable dedication to serving and loving the Bluffton community with compassion, connection, and faith.

During the surprise recognition event, the Chamber presented the Reinhards with signs, balloons, and a sweet treat from Sweet Obsessions to mark the occasion. With emotion and gratitude, John Reinhard addressed the group, saying, “To be recognized by this group is truly overwhelming. We hold you all in very high esteem.”

Foundations of Truth, located in downtown Bluffton, is far more than just a gathering space—it's a hub of hope, outreach, and spiritual growth. What began with a simple idea from their son, Mark Reinhard, has blossomed into a vital part of Bluffton’s heart. After the rise of big box stores and the resulting shift in the downtown business landscape, Mark saw an opportunity to reach out to those living in nearby housing who were often overlooked.

“We started with cookies and handshakes, just knocking on doors and inviting our neighbors to come in on a Thursday night,” Pam Reinhard shared. “We had no idea who would show up that first night—but people came. And they’ve been coming ever since.”

Today, Foundations of Truth welcomes an average of 80–90 people every Thursday evening. The weekly gathering includes separate Bible studies for men, women, teens, and children, as well as childcare to ensure all parents can participate. The organization is also committed to inclusivity and has expanded services to support the Spanish-speaking and Ukrainian communities.

“We have a wonderful group of Spanish-speaking participants who are learning English through classes led by Rebecca Lehman,” said Pam. “She’s an incredible teacher who makes them feel welcomed and empowered.” The Ukrainian community meets three times a week and hosts Sunday church services in Russian. “They’ve taken English classes too,” she added. “It’s a beautiful cultural exchange that happens right here.”

Throughout the week, the space remains active with prayer groups, Bible studies, and local organizations like Bluffton LifeWise Academy and Campus Life, who have used the building for meetings and programs. The facility, a former Studebaker Bank, still features original marble architecture and even has a gymnasium upstairs—something many community members are surprised to discover during tours.

Above all, the Reinhards and their team aim to create a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and loved. “Some of the people who come have been through really hard times. Whether it’s through support from places like Hannah’s House, Grace & Mercy, or others, they’re just looking for connection and care,” Pam explained. “When they leave, I want them to feel known and loved.”

As Mark Reinhard put it best: “We’re not here to serve the community—we’re here because we love this community. That’s the key difference.”

The Reinhards warmly invite the community to experience Foundations of Truth firsthand—whether by joining a Thursday night gathering, taking a tour, or simply stopping by their location at 113 W Market Street in Bluffton. At its core, Foundations of Truth exists to offer hope, support, and a sense of belonging to all who walk through its doors.
