Jamie's Cafe – Home of the Sweet Treats officially celebrated its ribbon-cutting ceremony at 135 W Market Street in Bluffton, Indiana, marking an exciting milestone for the locally owned bakery and café and its continued growth in downtown Bluffton. Community members, supporters, friends, and family gathered to celebrate the opening of a business rooted in passion, perseverance, and a strong commitment to serving others.

Jamie's Cafe offers a wide variety of homemade items, including baked goods, soups, sandwiches, specialty drinks, and signature sweet treats. The café has quickly become a welcoming space in the downtown district, known for its warm atmosphere and made-from-scratch menu items. Popular offerings include freshly baked desserts, homemade soups, specialty sandwiches, freeze dried candy, boba-style drinks, ice cream, and unique menu items such as the Seattle dog, all prepared with a focus on quality and care.

Owner Jamie Ness shared that the vision behind the café has always been centered around creating a place where people feel welcome, connected, and at home while enjoying food made with heart and intention. “This is what I love to do,” Jamie shared. “Seeing families and people come together here means everything. I want to keep growing, expand the menu, and continue building a place where the community can gather.”

Jamie's journey to opening her Bluffton café reflects years of dedication and entrepreneurship. She began her baking business in Michigan, where she owned and operated a bakery for approximately five years. During that time, she built a strong foundation in baking and developed a loyal customer base while refining her craft and passion for homemade food.

Following that chapter, Jamie and her family made the decision to return to Indiana to be closer to loved ones, including the arrival of her first grandchild. Back in Indiana, she continued her food journey through local farmers' markets and home-based baking, maintaining her passion while staying closely connected to her community and family life.

Over time, Jamie explored other small business ventures, including a tallow-based product line, but continued to feel drawn back to her passion for baking and food service. That passion ultimately led her to an opportunity in downtown Bluffton after being introduced to the space by a friend. What began as a conversation soon developed into a vision for a storefront café that could serve as both a bakery and a welcoming community gathering place.

“I thought I was done with baking for a while,” she shared. “But this opportunity came up, and it just felt right. Everything came together in a way that brought me back to what I truly love.”  Located in the heart of downtown Bluffton, the building itself also carries a long-standing history within the community, having previously been home to Toppings, as well as Fast Eddie’s Coney’s and Cones—both of which served as popular local gathering places over the years.

Today, Jamie’s Cafe continues to grow its presence in downtown Bluffton, offering a space where customers can enjoy homemade food while supporting a locally owned small business. Jamie has also expressed plans for future growth, including expanding menu offerings and potentially increasing seating and service capacity to better serve families and the broader community. The café currently operates Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with expanded hours beginning June 1. New hours will include Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
