The Wells County Chamber of Commerce, alongside its ambassadors, proudly welcomed Salvatori’s Authentic Italian Eatery to Bluffton with a ribbon-cutting celebration recognizing the restaurant’s newest location at 1007 North Main Street in Bluffton. Opened in April 2026, the Bluffton restaurant marks the eighth Salvatori’s location and brings the family-owned Italian eatery’s signature atmosphere, authentic cuisine, and community-centered approach to Wells County.
Founded in 2006 with its original location in New Haven, Salvatori’s has grown throughout northeast Indiana while maintaining its focus on quality food, remarkable service, and creating a welcoming dining experience for every guest. Over the years, the locally owned restaurant group has expanded to locations in Fort Wayne, Auburn, Leo Crossing, Warsaw, and now Bluffton, earning recognition across the region, including being voted the area’s #1 Italian restaurant multiple years in a row.
Director of Operations Jason Woffenden shared during the ceremony that Bluffton was not originally one of the communities the company planned to expand into. However, conversations with local business owner Adam Dager, who owns the neighboring gas station, helped change their perspective and ultimately led to the partnership. “We didn’t originally think Bluffton would be the next town for us,” Woffenden explained. “But Adam really believed in what our brand could bring to this community and how our businesses could complement each other. Once we started spending time here, we realized Bluffton is a community that truly supports local businesses, and that became really exciting for us.”
Woffenden explained that opening alongside the gas station created a unique opportunity for the team to slowly become familiar with the community before the restaurant officially launched. That early exposure allowed staff members to connect with customers and build relationships while preparing for the large turnout that typically accompanies a new restaurant opening.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the warm welcome from Bluffton,” Woffenden said. “There have been many months of planning leading up to this, and now that we’re here, the support has honestly exceeded our expectations. This community has rallied behind us in such a big way, and we feel a responsibility to make sure we’re giving people a great experience every single time they walk through the doors.”
Woffenden also spoke about how different the atmosphere in Bluffton feels compared to larger metropolitan areas where the company has previously operated restaurants. During the restaurant’s opening weeks, long wait times became common, but instead of frustration, the team experienced patience and encouragement from local residents. “In bigger cities, people don’t usually leave during an hour wait and come back later,” manager Gio shared with a laugh. “But here, people would say, ‘We’ll just run home and come back when our table is ready.’ That small-town atmosphere has been really special for us.”
Salvatori’s has also quickly become known for its generous portions and authentic Italian recipes, many of which have been preserved through generations of family tradition and continue to influence the dishes served today. “We don’t compromise on quality,” he said. “Authentic Italian cooking takes time, and people can taste the difference. We stay true to traditional recipes and techniques because that’s what makes the food special.”
The Bluffton location offers dine-in service, carryout, online ordering, delivery, and a convenient drive-up carryout window. Guests can order directly through the restaurant’s website, where delivery orders are fulfilled through DoorDash while helping customers avoid many of the additional third-party app fees.
Beyond the food itself, leadership emphasized that customer relationships remain one of the company’s core values. Rather than relying on generic customer service practices, the team believes in direct communication and personal accountability when concerns arise. “If we make a mistake, we want people to tell us,” Woffenden shared. “We want to personally make things right. Building relationships matters to us, and we want people to know we truly care about their experience.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony symbolized more than the opening of doors, marking Salvatori’s commitment to becoming part of the Bluffton community for years to come. Cutting the ribbon are Director of Operations Jason Woffenden and manager Geovanni Aviles, alongside Salvatori’s team members, Chamber Ambassadors, and supporters, celebrating the restaurant’s official opening. Salvatori’s is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am. to 9 pm., and on Sundays, 11 am. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, visit Salvatori’s on Facebook or at their physical location, 1007 North Main Street, Bluffton, or call (260) 296-0224.
