The Wells County Chamber of Commerce and its Ambassadors are thrilled to recognize Pizza King of Bluffton as the February Member of the Month. This honor highlights the restaurant’s deep ties to the community, its rich 55-year history, and its commitment to a family-centered customer experience.

Since its founding, Pizza King of Bluffton has remained a family-owned and operated establishment. Haleigh Osborne has been a part of the business for most of her life. “My grandpa will tell you I started at four counting money with him,” Osborne shared. “I officially started working here at 14, and this June will mark 21 years for me.”

The restaurant’s team, which includes 18 to 25 employees—primarily high school students—has built a reputation for flexibility and personalized service. “We really try to know our customers by name, especially those who come in on the same day each week,” Osborne explained. “Building those relationships is something we take pride in.”

Pizza King offers an array of pizza combinations featuring popular ingredients like pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, bacon, pineapple, and green peppers. "Customers often come in with some of the most random combinations, like pineapple and mushrooms,” Osborne said with a smile. “While I may not love pineapple on pizza, we make what the customers want.”

What truly sets Pizza King apart is its family-first atmosphere. “Even though we’re part of a franchise, we’re independently owned,” Osborne explained. “Customers don’t just walk in and walk out. We know their families, and they’ve watched me grow up too. I remember when I had my daughter—customers brought me baby gifts. You just don’t find that kind of connection everywhere.”

In preparation for its 55th anniversary, the Pizza King team is reflecting on past celebrations. “For the 50th anniversary, we held a week full of specials. Some offers were more popular than others, but it was great to see the community’s excitement and support,” Osborne recalled.

One staple that has remained a fan favorite is Pizza King’s signature breadsticks. “Pizza King corporate once tried to change how we made them, and I said absolutely not,” Osborne said firmly. “It’s our recipe, and our customers love it. We continue to use our in-house dough to maintain the quality that our customers expect.”

Looking ahead, Pizza King remains deeply committed to the Bluffton community. “This honor means a lot, especially coming right before our 55th anniversary,” Osborne said. “It’s a testament to the support we’ve received from our customers. We’re still family-owned and operated, and we plan to stay that way until my daughter gets to make that decision—so she’s got at least 20 more years to decide!”

Pizza King is located at 114 Water Street and is proud to serve the Bluffton community with dedication and care. The restaurant is open from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, with extended hours until 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The buffet is available on Friday and Saturday evenings, and the restaurant is closed on Mondays. For more information, visit www.blufftonpizzaking.com.
